About Kwekerij Roodpunt

Kwekerij Roodpunt was founded in 2014 by two driven entrepreneurs who saw the promising potential of Sweet Palermo and Sweetbite pointed peppers. At the time, we started with 2 growers with 6.5 hectares of production and anno 2025 we can proudly say that we sell product on behalf of 7 growers, who grow their products at 17 production locations spread across the Netherlands and Belgium.

Our growers produce a wide range of peppers with passion and skill. Our peppers are not only striking in colour, but also rich in flavour and nutrients. Thanks to our sustainable growing methods, we ensure that our products are not only tasty, but also environmentally friendly.

At Kwekerij Roodpunt, we believe in quality and freshness. That is why we harvest our peppers at the perfect time, so they arrive at their best at your doorstep. Our customer-oriented approach ensures that we work closely with our buyers to fulfil their wishes. That is why we are also involved in various projects abroad to meet customers' needs in winter too. Together, we ensure a healthy and tasty future!

Sustainability at Kwekerij Roodpunt

Sustainability is at the heart of Kwekerij Roodpunt and its growers. At a time when environmental impact is becoming increasingly important, it is essential that the agricultural sector takes responsibility. The growers address this challenge by applying innovative techniques and sustainable practices at each growing location.

Depending on the possibilities per growing location, one of the key initiatives is the connection to geothermal heat. This renewable energy source enables growers to heat their greenhouses in an environmentally friendly way, reducing CO2 emissions.

Growers are also investing in combined heat and power (CHP) plants, which generate heat and electricity simultaneously. This increases energy efficiency and reduces the carbon footprint of cultivation processes.

Installing solar panels on shed roofs and water basins is also a sustainable initiative in which their own electricity needs are met as well as those of the central electricity grid.

When it comes to crop protection, growers are bound by strict European legislation supplemented by specific customer requirements. To meet these requirements, growers mainly use biological agents for prevention and protection.

We put people first! Our growers guarantee good employment and working conditions.

Through these sustainable initiatives, Kwekerij Roodpunt and its growers not only take responsibility for the environment, but also create a future-proof working environment for their employees. Promoting a circular economy and reducing fossil fuels are essential steps that contribute to a greener future. Thus, Kwekerij Roodpunt proves that sustainability is not just a buzzword, but a necessary reality in modern agriculture.
